{"id":4119,"date":"2014-09-12T15:15:34","date_gmt":"2014-09-12T19:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.org\/newsroom\/?post_type=fdoc-news-item&amp;p=91"},"modified":"2014-09-12T15:15:34","modified_gmt":"2014-09-12T19:15:34","slug":"ackerman-to-international-juice-industry-florida-citrus-still-strong","status":"publish","type":"fdoc-news-item","link":"https:\/\/www.floridacitrus.org\/grower\/fr\/fdoc-news-item\/ackerman-to-international-juice-industry-florida-citrus-still-strong\/","title":{"rendered":"Ackerman to international juice industry: Florida Citrus still strong"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FDOC&#8217;s Doug Ackerman presented at the Foodnews World Juice conference in Barcelona, Spain on Sept. 10.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>BARCELONA \u2013\u00a0Speaking to members of the international juice industry, Florida Department of Citrus Executive Director Doug Ackerman emphasized\u00a0the unwavering\u00a0efforts\u00a0of the Florida Citrus industry, despite the threat of greening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held this week in Barcelona, the 19th annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldjuice.com\/\">Foodnews World Juice<\/a> conference featured presentations from leaders in several juice\u00a0industries on topics such as buying trends, trading tariffs and\u00a0economic and agricultural factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his presentation on Wednesday, Ackerman noted that while citrus greening continues to threaten the industry worldwide,\u00a0researchers and growers have not given up. They are instead working fervently to come up with a solution to the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the FDOC is working collaboratively with industry brands to create a unified approach to build stronger relationships with consumers. The FDOC is placing more emphasis on\u00a0social media, public relations efforts and shopper marketing programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using\u00a0messages of health and nutrition coupled with a tradition of resilience and innovation, the industry, Ackerman said, is working to remind consumers why Florida Citrus continues to be\u00a0the right choice.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FDOC&#8217;s Doug Ackerman presented at the Foodnews World Juice conference in Barcelona, Spain on Sept. 10.
