BARTOW, Fla. \u2013\u00a0The Florida Citrus Commission added\u00a0a new commissioner Friday\u00a0with the appointment of Aedan Dowling, of Tropicana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gov. Rick Scott appointed Dowling\u00a0to the seat previously held by Michael Haycock. Dowling\u00a0represents District 3, which includes much of Florida\u2019s Gulf coast and the southern portion of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scott also announced the reappointment of James S. Horrisberger<\/a>\u00a0and Vernon \u201cV.C.\u201d Hollingsworth III<\/a>. Both of their terms had expired in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhile we are sad to see Commissioner Haycock go, we are excited to welcome his colleague Aedan Dowling to the Commission,\u201d said Shannon Shepp, interim executive director of the Florida Department of Citrus. \u201cWe look forward to working with Dowling and the rest of the Commissioners as we move ahead with another\u00a0Florida Citrus season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dowling, 53, of Bradenton, serves as senior director of global fruit procurement for Tropicana.\u00a0He previously served as a member of the board of directors of the Juice Products Association and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Florida Citrus Processors Association.\u00a0Dowling received his bachelor\u2019s degree from Rutgers College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Horrisberger, of Lakeland, is the North American fruits and juices procurement director for the Coca-Cola Company. Hollingsworth, of Arcadia, is manager of citrus and cattle operation for VCH Management LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Terms for all three end May 31, 2018.\u00a0The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dowling, Horrisberger and Hollingsworth join\u00a0Michael J. Garavaglia Jr., G. Ellis Hunt Jr., Dan Caspar, Jonathan \u201cNed\u201d Hancock, Francisco J. Pines, and Chairman Martin J.
