The University of Florida\u2019s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Polk County office is celebrating 100 years of extension services with a block party on Saturday, Sept. 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Block Party<\/a>, which will be held at the\u00a0UF\/IFAS Polk County Extension office in Bartow<\/a>\u00a0from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature\u00a0educational sessions on\u00a0the unique aspects of Polk county as well as the extension programs that provide support to local\u00a0communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sessions focus on topics such as\u00a0healthy cooking, Florida-friendly landscaping, plant potting and a history of Polk County ranching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first 50 attendees will receive a gift. Snacks and refreshments will be served. This is a free, family-friendly event with no registration required.
