Ingredients

Cardamom Simple Syrup

  • 100 grams granulated sugar
  • 100 grams water
  • 25 cardamom pods

Spiced Citrus Punch

  • 3 ounces Florida Orange Juice
  • 2 1/2 ounces hibiscus tea
  • 1 ounce cardamom syrup
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Make the simple syrup: Toast the cardamom in a dry pan over low heat for 5-10 minutes, moving constantly. Lightly crush the toasted pods to open them.
  2. Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Simmer briefly over low heat, then turn off the heat.
  3. Add the cardamom and steep for 2 hours to overnight, depending on your preferred flavor strength. Strain before using.
  4. In a glass or shaker, add the orange juice and cardamom syrup. Stir or shake until well combined.
  5. Over ice, add the orange juice and cardamom syrup mixture; top with hibiscus tea.
