When you are looking to spice up your next get-together, try my favorite Jalapeño Grapefruit Margarita. The combination of jalapeño and Florida Grapefruit provides a unique spin on a traditional favorite that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Florida Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 1 ½ oz. tequila
  • 3 tbsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 Florida Grapefruit wedge for garnish
  • 1 lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix salt and chili powder on a small plate.
  2. To prepare your glass, run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and roll the glass in the chili-salt mixture.
  3. Place a slice of jalapeño in a cocktail shaker and muddle.
  4. Add Florida Grapefruit Juice, lime juice, tequila and ice to the cocktail shaker. Fasten cocktail shaker lid securely and shake well.
  5. Strain the mixture into chili-salt rimmed glass.
  6. Garnish glasses with Florida Grapefruit wedges and lime wedges.

Helpful Tip: My Jalapeño Grapefruit Margarita pairs well with my family’s favorite barbecue chicken, served with our Florida Orange Juice BBQ Sauce.
